About Me
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am a neurodivergent therapist with a background in psychology. I hold Professional Diplomas in Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy, I'm a ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and have specialist training working with survivors of sexual abuse and violence, infertility treatment, and pregnancy and infant loss. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome trauma, anxiety, and depression through personalised care, compassion and experience.
My own experience of ADHD led me to gain specific qualifications with regard to counselling and supporting others with ADHD and their families, regardless of whether they are officially-diagnosed (GP or Psychiatrist) or self-diagnosed.
I have worked extensively with survivors of sexual abuse and violence and trauma associated with infertility, pregnancy and infant loss. It is not uncommon to feel overwhelming emotions of anger, injustice and grief or to dissociate completely and from your emotions and feel empty and lost. Working together you can have that space, supported, to work through these emotions whatever they look like for you. Therapy in this sense is not about 'fixing' you, but 'holding' you, understanding that this is shit and unfair and moving towards a space that is right for you. I work with both trauma survivors and/or their families, whether they be parents, siblings, grandparents or carers.
I work in a pluralistic way, meaning that I have a wide range of theories and models to draw from in order to support you uniquely with your goals, including CBT, person-centred and psychodynamic theories to name a few.
I have an enhanced DBS for (adults and children) and am fully insured.
I am also registered with, and abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the National Hypnotherapy Society (HS).
What makes my service different?
I am very down to earth and approachable. I work with a calm, relaxed and supportive atmosphere in a beautiful rural location, just 20 minutes from Worcester, offering you space, privacy and empowerment to work through your issues at your own pace.
I offer the choice of psychotherapy or hypnotherapy depending on what you need support with and am experienced in taking counselling outdoors and into nature where you can experience the physical and psychological benefits of feeling connected with your environment.
I understand how hard it can be to deal with the pressures of everyday life, to suffer with anxiety and sometimes feel lost or alone. Together we can work out where you want to be, and how you want to get there.
It's okay not to feel okay. It's okay to reach out for help. It's okay to want to look after your mental wellbeing in the same way you look after your physical wellbeing, by getting professional help when things don't quite feel right.
